The Timberworks Team
We are a small, dedicated group of professionals passionate about timber and the products we create and have been specialising in our craft for the past 13 years. Timberworks was started in 2002 by two NZ couples including a qualified builder and a timber engineer; following a period of training at one of the largest Canadian Post and Beam companies. More recently, it has been taken over by husband and wife team, Martin and Lesley Langelaan, who add a more English inspired focus to the team. “With our practical experience of building houses in the UK and NZ, engineering skills and obvious love of all things wood, we are enthusiastic to take Timberworks forward through the next decade and introduce more people to the benefits of building with wood”.
We have a great team of carpenters to call upon with countless years’ experience between them of working with heavy timbers. We take great care and apply great attention to detail in all we do; our craft is pure, accurate and of an extremely high quality. The Timberworks workshop is nestled amongst the vineyards and orchards of Ruby Bay, not far from Nelson. This 1200m2 facility houses a workshop, sawmill bay and design/engineering office.
We aim to put craftsmanship, quality and enduring beauty back into our homes; to leave a lasting legacy for the next generation.
