Cathedral Frame in Leigh, North of Auckland

This is Timberworks largest project to date.  The clients, originally from the US, have had a long term love of Post and Beam (or Timberframe) construction and always wanted to include it in their new house.  The design includes soaring 8m high hammer beam bents ( timber portal frames) through the living room with carved tear-drop pendants, a beautiful verandah bent inspired by southern US Post and Beam design and beamed ceilings through the kitchen and master bedroom.  The post and beam frame was made out of Lawson Cypress from old growth trees in the Marlborough Sounds.
