King Post Truss with curved Tie-Beam
This design uses a curved tie-beam to add style and interest to a King Post Truss. This beam can either span the whole truss, or be split in two and joined into either side of the King-Post (as shown below). Another option is a curved collar-tie, rather than tie-beam, which connects with the principal rafters higher up.
The beams can either be cut out of solid, naturally curved timbers or especially engineered glu-lam beams.
